America's State Parks First Day Hikes offer individuals and families an opportunity to begin the New Year rejuvenating and connecting with the outdoors by taking a healthy hike on January 1\, 2013 at a state park.\n\n	\n\n	Join in the fun at 3 park systems in Garrett County including New Germany State Park.\n\n	\n\n	Degree of Difficulty: Easy\n\n	Minimum Age for Kids: 4\n\n	Restrictions: Dogs on a leash are welcome.\n\n	Length of the Trail: 1.0 miles\n\n	Things to Bring: Participants should wear clothes and shoes appropriate for the weather (rain\, snow or shine)\, and bring water for drinking and a camera (optional).\n\n	\n\n	Enjoy the winter wonderland of Western Maryland! A ranger will guide hikers in search of winter songbirds and other animals that make their home in the forest at New Germany State Park.
