Rear Admiral Richard B. Schiff Scholarship Fund. The purpose of the scholarship shall be to provide support and benefit for Garrett College students. The scholarship is designed to assist students from Garrett County. Candidates who were enrolled in the Garrett Mentors\, Inc. program will be given preference. Secondary preference will be given to military members or current or former military dependents. Rick Schiff was a dedicated member of the Garrett Mentors organization. Rick was a Garrett Mentors\, Inc. past President\, a board member and strong volunteer mentor in the program. He was the first to step up when help was needed\, not just for Garrett Mentors\, but for many other organizations as well. He was also a dear friend to many and the Garrett County community.  We are dedicated to continuing his legacy through the children we serve through our lunchtime mentoring program for chidren in need of positive adult role models.
